TikTok is also ready to compete with Twitter, introducing a big change

After Meta, TikTok has also decided to take on Elon Musk-owned social media platform Twitter (now renamed X). For this purpose, a new feature has been added to the video-sharing app that will change the experience of using it.

TikTok users will now be able to post videos and photos as well as text-based posts. This new feature is similar to Twitter’s Tweets but looks similar to Instagram Stories. TikTok users can decorate their text with a background color while also editing the style of the text. The social media platform has also facilitated the addition of music and stickers to text.

A limit of 1000 characters has been set for each TikTok text post, while text posts can also be used for stitching and dueting. The addition of a text feature to an app that is forcing technology companies to embrace short videos is quite interesting. This comes at a time when Twitter’s competitors, Threads, Blue Sky, and other platforms are trying to carve out space.

Due to the loss of access to various Twitter features (for users who are not part of the subscription service) and various other changes, Twitter users are switching to other apps, and TikTok seems to be interested in attracting them.
